Well, after spending a very successful day in Lambikin’s Hideaway, I have begun working on my latest project. Unfortunately, there have been some camera memory card malfunctions, so photo’s will have to follow tomorrow!
But to give a brief description of what I am working on, I found a Berroco pattern book at a yarn shop up near my parents home in Archbold, OH. The owner mostly carried Berroco, so I picked up “Woodland Gothic,” (Vol. 3 in Norah Gaughan’s Berroco pattern books.) I had fallen in love with their pattern, “Loppem,” when it was debuted last year for the Fall/Winter collection. Being on a jewel-toned craze, I selected a wine colored yarn to knit up this simple cardigan with an open front, buttons to clasp the top, and a basic cable running up the front.
I’m excited about this project not only because I absolutely adore the pattern, but because I will finally get a chance to try my hand at the cable stitch, buttons, and button holes. This is also the first top I’ve ever knit THAT I actually intend to finish. I’m a little put out with my other top project, a GarnStudio sleeveless top. It too is a beautiful pattern, but the directions are a bit hairy, the yarn keeps ripping apart, and to be honest- I’d just like to work on something new!
That being said, it’s time to pop on a “Murder, She Wrote,” have a cup of tea, and settle in for a quiet evening. And maybe I’ll just hop on Ravelry for a minute to look at some lace shawl patterns for some yarn I bought today?
Happy Knitting,
